.Daylight.Brain-dead.

I sleep in a fairly dank room.I blot out as much light as I possibly can because, functioning primarily in the late afternoon both for work and personal life, one can only take so much sunlight. Vampire? Nah...I just prefer the moon. I'll skip out on the vitamin D a little longer.

Nonsense aside, I've been tucked away in pockets of reality, traveling to different parts of the US in the hopes to relocate soon, which shall become a reality. I've also been sorting through my own personal styles and expressions, looking for a part of myself I believe to have lost. Nah, it's still there. I've just been incredibly busy, and nearly forgot about her. I did manage to read a few articles on "Nu-Goth" and other "Nu-cultures" and music and the like. It's amusing, the labels we think for ourselves. Now, I won't say I haven't done the same for myself when I was younger, but it wasn't intentional. I delved into the Goth world long before I knew of its existence. I actually shunned it for a while due to not wanting to be lumped in with a group of people I personally felt no connection to. Then I examined it and decided to go ahead and be categorized for a bit. Then I went about crafting my own style within it. Every individual is different. One thing in its entirety couldn't possibly work for another. I found elements of Gothic Lolita, such as the circle lenses and over-embroidered  collars to be quaint, but despised the sometimes oversized hair accessories.

I did look up this "Nu-Goth" style and, to be honest, laughed. One article referred to it as a "bastard child between hipster and goth" and another simple asked "what is this?"

My eyes wandered between the partial articles of clothing, identifying them as borrowed and meshed from other subcultures, and it seemed like some sort of frankenstein--a mishmash of not one or even two but so many subcultures. I couldn't help wonder why one would want to even attempt to label such a thing, but youth will always seek solace in creating something "all their own". Yes. That was sarcasm.

I suppose if I cared enough, I could pick apart nearly every subculture including the one I am a part of, and delve into the borrowings and leanings of many influences. But I won't. It's boring and pointless. I think what attracted my attention to this "Nu-Goth" phenomena was that prefix "nu". New. Refreshing. Maybe that was what I was hoping to see. Something new. Something unseen. Original. Maybe I would like it. Alas, that was not the case. I simply saw hiccups from the past. However, while looking to refresh such things, I was able to find a nice bit of clothing for the workplace:

Work...or Play?

Of course the wig I couldn't resist. And yes, it is backward.
